Repair Quickbooks Database

Quickbooks is relied on in order to keep accurate records. There are times when this program can go down. When this happens business activity can be disrupted. Now a person can learn how to repair a quickbooks database to get everything up and running again in no time.

 Quickbooks has a program called the File Doctor. It may come standard on some programs. If not it can be downloaded off of the internet. This program needs to be installed to help fix the database. Once the program has finished download double click on the qbfd.exe. Onscreen instructions will appear to finish the installation process. Once the program has finished installing it will open up on its own.

 A drop down menu will appear on this program. Search the list for your company. If you do not see your company than you need to hit the brows button and type it in. You can now begin to repair the damaged files in your database. If there is a 6xxx error than there is a problem with the files and they need to be restored. Once a person clicks on the error they will need to enter the company’s password.

 Once the password is accepted select the Host/Server or the Workstation option. Click the yes button in order to continue. Allow File Doctor to check for the problem and find what caused the damage to the database. This may take a couple of minutes. If the database is large be prepare for wait for several minutes while all of the data is checked. Once the program is done exit file doctor and open Quickbooks again. The database should be restored.

There are some other ways in order to fix issues with the database as well. Click on the file menu and then click on Utilities. From this click on Rebuilt Data. Click the okay button. A message may appear that Quickbooks is not responding. As long as the mouse can be moved on the screen the program is working. Once a message has appeared that the rebuild has completed try to open Quickbooks again and access the database.

 If the step above does not work an additional step may need to be performed. Once again click on the file menu and Utilities. Click on Verify data. If there is an issue with the data search for the QBWIN.log or click on QuickBooks.log files. Once the files have opened click Ctrl +F. This will allow the user to begin to verify their entries in the database. If an error message still appears and something such as LVL_Error comes up on the screen there is still a way to fix it. Copy this code and paste it in Quickbooks help. You will then be able to take additional measures in order to correct the database.
